Unity Shoppe Telethon Turns into a Freak Show!!

General — Posted by Sonny @ 20:54

Sponsored this Year by the News-Press..how the Hell did they turn Kenny Loggins into an Old Woman??

I couldn’t believe my eyes…the first five minutes of the telethon had Kenny Loggins talking over a blank screen..NO VIDEO..then after five minutes, the video came on but there was NO SOUND!

Then, finally they got audio and video to ..come together..over me… I’m laughin’ all the while…

The opening musical acts were a blind guy belting out “This Masquerade”…then this guy, a pastor, belted out a song about Jesus..hide your children, folks!

Then some behind the scenes stuff..some poor Mexicans shopping at the Unity Shoppe..let’s face it..rich white folks are giving it up for poor Mexicans..that’s what this charity is all about..relieving white guilt while the poor folks scoop up the goods!

Celeb Watch!

Art sings "I Love Wendy's Gravy Train" for Laura!

Herman from the Hermits! "Mrs. Brown, You've got a Lovely Daughter"..I loved that song!!

The saving grace of the event was Sharrie Small's graceful and energetic hosting abilities.. she works at KSBY in SLO.

And this chick... Albany is her name..slinky!

Best quote..Larry Good: "pull it out and give to the Unity Shoppe" (talking about using your credit card!)

The most annoying thing was the "Christmas Once Again in Santa Barbara" jingle they kept playing...

GOOD JOB, NIPPER! Please don't sponsor next year!!
