For shame, Travis..your Shameless Shamefulness has Shamed us all!

The NLRB vs the News-Press ..ch-ch-ch changes..

Travis uses his NewsPress column regularly to recycle his and Wendo’s negative visions about the Teamsters. He tries to place the shame on ex-reporters who wrote some innocent emails about delivering a list of demands to an unreceptive NewsPress management. The twisted logic is..the emails conflict with some reporter’s testimony concerning an incident at the News-Press..Travis tries to tie the literal with the figurative to prove the newsroom incident more than it was. Travis, who’s afraid of his own shadow, may have felt spooked by a bunch of girls trying to communicate with him..so what. This is a non-issue that the NewsPress will rehash on a regular basis for some perceived gain.

Now, what should the News-Press folks really be ashamed of?

· Driving drunk the wrong way down a one-way street

· Trying to link child porn to an ex-editor while supporting an “actor” who was dumb enough to videotape his sexcapades with underage girls…

· Lying on the witness stand and trying to blame someone else

· Lying to the public on a regular basis about the NewsPress ‘transition”..”it’s all part of our business plan”

· Trying to buy influence in Santa Barbara

· Trying to intimidate business owners

· Hiring Dr. Laura..for shame, shame, shame!

Blue Line Paranoia

The NewsPress is worried that the liteblueline folks are plotting a comeback after the city council elections..well, they can do whatever they want so long as it doesn't violate city codes..so what's the big deal? Another case of the NewsPress getting spooked ..SHAMEFUL!!

  1. Who should be ashamed? Wendy McCaw, for lying to us all. Quoting Mrs. McCaw, in the News-Press:

"... I plan to leave the day-to-day management and editorial direction of our paper to the professionals who run it. An essential reason for buying the News-Press is to preserve its independence and integrity." 7-22-2000

"I respect the traditions of journalism and believe that the best way to run a paper is to hire good people and let them do their jobs, and that is exactly what I am doing." 7-19-2006

"We are in the process of hiring a new editor who is a strong journalist with impeccable credentials to be the buffer between the newsroom and the publisher." 7-25-2006

"While I don't believe that union representation is in the best interests of our employees, the paper or this community, I respect our employees' rights to make their own decisions." 7-25-2006

"I will personally continue to work in 2007 to ensure that you receive the best local coverage that can be provided, not only this year, but beyond." 1-1-2007
