Army Covering Up for Dr. Laura & Son??
God's Army….

As everyone knows, Dr. Laura's army son, Deryk, is being investigated for a website that depicted his unprofessional comments and military imagery: rapes, child molestation, and killings. Matt Ketteman of the Indie reports the investigation is over. Is Deryk guilty? MAYBE!! says the army.. maybe?? that was an investigation?
The once proud American army has been reduced and shamed by the current crop of personnel: from the cover up of Pat Tillman’s murder by “friendly fire” (only the current army could come up with an oxymoron like that), to fighting a civil war in Iraq for Bush’s ego, and now, covering up for Dr. Laura and her son, Deryk, an enlisted soldier with an obvious maturity problem. Why should we care??
here's some thoughts from other blogs:
"We don’t want your kind and we don’t want that fucked-up kid of yours in the ranks. Assholes like that idiot child you failed to raise get other soldiers killed – soldiers with a sense of gravitas about the job we ask them to do. I hope to hell that an Article 35 is held over this shit, and I hope he gets busted out of service before he gets someone else’s kid killed."
"Whatever happened to ‘conduct unbecoming'?"
"The story of her son’s website went public on May 23 (and has since gone underground), breaking news of her award from the Dept. of Defense comes merely 2 months later. Do you really believe that the DOD (Department of Defense) isn’t capable of manipulating such situations to benefit themselves? The last thing they would want is for this scandal involving her son to paint US troops in an unfavorable light. That doesn’t help the deployed troops, the families at home, the US government, or the DOD. So why not give his mother an award to deflect attention away from the matter at hand? Just because Dr. Laura gets ‘The Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service’ it hardly means we should pardon or ignore her son’s conduct."
RadioEqualizer and nutjob Brian Mahoney-Baloney gives his take!
"Maybe, just maybe, the terrorists did it? According to Army spokesman Robert Tallman, “it may be possible that our enemies are actually behind this. Our enemies are adaptive, technologically sophisticated, and truly understand the importance of the information battlespace, and sadly, they will use that space to promulgate and disseminate untrue propaganda.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Laura is keeping quiet on the subject, preferring of course to tell other people how to raise good children.
The best time to release a story you want buried is Friday of a big weekend. The investigation is over and the "enemy" was cleared. Deryk's My Space web page sign up date was 4/24/07, he had 14 friends listed. Many were his bros in Kandahar, the others were girls, from Hillsdale. It would not be that hard to determine who did the site. The Army or a reporter could start by interviewing the 14 friends thoroughly.

I can understand why the Independent wants this to end. I didn't know unresolved mysteries could end? I got that the enemy was cleared, too, not Deryk Schlessinger. The Army ended an investigation unresolved. Someone did the site and Deryk wouldn't tell if he suspected one of the few who would be a possibility? I don't think the investigation was much more then his Army friends.
