SB City Council Zone Out.....

Has Santa Barbara Lost its Mind?

or just Das, Barnwell, Marty

and Helene??

"Hoping to give residents a visual reminder of the effect of global warming, a local nonprofit wants to paint 12-inch high blue lines on Santa Barbara curbs to mark how high water levels would rise if Antarctic ice sheets continue to melt."

We need environmentalists, not goofy alarmists!!! Mayor Blum and Helene Schneider are reportedly in favor of this nonsense!

Here it is ..the wackiest city council meeting I've ever heard!

Meeting Minutes

If you want to paint a blue line around your property..go

ahead..but keep this goofball idea off the city

streets..

Painting streets or sidewalks for other than pedestrian-related safety issues will be a distraction and a hazard! It opens the city to lawsuits!

Real environmentalism requires hard work, not gimmicks.. these blue lines will also contain Bruce Caron's website address..an ADVERTISEMENT!

lightbluelines what are you smokin' Brucie!?

  1. Hi Sonny,
Actually, we've been working with the City's Public Works Department for a year to make sure the LIGHT blue lines are not a hazard. Light blue happens to be an officially "unassigned" color. This public awareness art project is designed to stir up conversation about the problem of human induced climate change. So we are happy it gave you a chance to speak out. We are working with the Community Environmental Council on promoting what you might call "real environmentalism." The lightblueline project seeks to help others realize the "hard work" we all have to do by pointing out what we have to lose. The website is the property of a public charity organization, and the project is open to the public to join. A lot of Carpinteria is lower than seven meters. Several residents there have asked about doing a line. Something else to think about. cheers!
