After Travis Armstrong of the NewsPress complained in an editorial about alleged bias, the SBCC Adult Education facilitator pulled the plug on a housing series, called "Host". Now, I'm the first guy to want to stop developers from messing up the area, but anybody should be able to offer forums thru Adult Education without censorship, with obvious exceptions.

Apparently, some of the folks involved in the program are pro-housing..so what?! Go to the series and debate them instead of stifling the info....what is this CHINA?? What is Travis afraid of..freedom of speech?!

Here's my formal letter to SBCC, City Council and Board of Supes:

I am a longtime advocate of slow growth. I think it is important to listen to all housing points of view. I have heard that SBCC has canceled a housing series due to alleged bias. If it is found the series folks are stifling debate in attempts to brainwash people, then SBCC can and should pull the plug. However, to cancel an Adult Education program because the Santa Barbara News-Press has fears the public might be swayed toward more housing is beyond belief and discriminatory. Sheer nonsense! And the News-Press is not exactly the anti growth advocates they claim to be. They editorialized against the Toro Canyon Plan that would have limited growth in this environmentally sensitive area..always on the side of the property owners who wanted to bulldoze and build out..what's changed?

The whole point of Adult Education is to let people decide for themselves and DEBATE instead of censoring programs for spurious reasons. John Romo and Pablo Buckelew have disgraced SBCC Adult, that is, ADULT Education, and should reinstate the program or resign their positions. A serious investigation into the relationship between the NewsPress and SBCC should be started immediately..something is not right!

The religious rightwing fringe at the Harley Davidson store in Carp will be hosting an "OPERATION FAMILY FUND"/motorcycle show/ fundraiser for the injured American soldiers and families. On the surface it sounds fantastic. However, look below the surface and the same old war mongering, chicken hawking Bush enablers are fast at work.

Apparently, after 5 years, the Bush Administration won't take care of the wounded and maimed vets from the war it started, so the likes of Dr. Laura have stepped into the spotlight, draped in the American flag and toting bibles, to raise money for the vets and their families..

Dr. Laura will offer herself to the "Dunking Machine" whereby you bid on a ball to throw at her bullseye as she sits perched above a tub of water... Normally these machines are great fun for CARNIVALS...

...since when are the deaths of troops subjected to this circus type atmosphere?? This is a right wing political ploy...

and where was OPERATION FAMILY FARCE or the Bushies when the troops needed better armor, more back-up and more support at home from the GOVERNMENT??

Fundraisers like this prolong the war. Instead, these people should be working to end the war deaths of civlians, and the disastrous leadership of the Bush administration... what are we paying taxes for... it should be to take care of veterans and provide competent leadership!

Bill O’Reilly was in Los Angeles doing his show when he went nuts over some “militant gays” in San Francisco. Apparently, the guys dressed up in outlandish costumes and entered a church for communion services. The catholic priest/pastor was administering to church folks, and Bill thought the gay guys were making mocking the proceedings.

Well, the priest was dressed pretty wild himself..flowing gown, pointed mad hatter hat and he didn’t seem bothered by the gay guys antics.
